“Hoy me voy a casar con mi mejor amiga”… is Spanish for: “Today I am getting married to my best friend.
Avid travellers and adventure seekers, Suzanne and Felipe were introduced to each other by Anette, Suzanne’s younger sister. While he certainly thought she was “cute” the Chilean engineer already had a first love called Esmerelda, his motorcycle.
He would take Esmeralda on frequent trips to Hout Bay – but a coffee invite + a few Spanish lessons sealed the deal and Esmeralda didn’t stand a chance against the pretty and smart architect. “I was now the queen of his heart, a playful Suzanne teased.”
They celebrated their wedding at Overture Restaurant on the foothills of the Helderberg Mountains. Intimate wedding vows were exchanged in the wine cellar followed by the marriage of culture, food and festivities.
The couple is relocating to Chile this summer and it seems a South African potjie and Weber is already making its way to South America, ready to serve the best of both worlds for the travelling friends and family.
